As a member of a very cool team of influencers for Verizon Wireless, I received compensation to think of this story in my life, write about it and share how I changed the course!
Last year, I started on a health journey that proved to change my life for the better – Treadmill Tuesdays. I went on to talk all about Chasing Dreams and how I was prepared to finally do this change – and I did. I conquered a Half-Marathon mountain and felt amazing and alive.
I was on the health journey of a lifetime. I documented every single mile with my smartphone, shared on social media, and answered inquiries from people cheering me on! My training for my half-marathon was over and suddenly, I felt like I had truly accomplished something.
But then, the summer came, life got busy, and the priorities of training were soon out the window. I gained wait, lost athleticism and paid less attention to my eating habits and I slipped back into those old habits. Proof that this is a lifelong journey. I quickly started having #SwitchersRemorse at not maintaining my health journey.
The decision to not continue to pursue my active life and health has long-term repercussions – ones that I am working on correcting the course with now. Thankfully, I’m giving myself grace, but I’m confident that I won’t make the same mistake twice.
Getting started is difficult, but continuing to do it when the going gets tough? That’s even harder. I’m on a continuing journey to get my old self back and get back to running – I know I can do it
What have you done in your life that wish you could take back? Have you not done something that you wish you would have? Life is full of couldas, wouldas, shouldas, but the good news is, not all is lost! Make it up to yourself from here on out. The vow to do better, be better, live better.
Do you have your own story of #SwitchersRemorse? I’d love to hear how you found your motivation again!
