Charlie, My oh my! How the time flies when you’re having fun! It seems like only yesterday that you came into our lives, but as I said in my last post, we’ve now known about you for a year. Exactly one year ago today, at 1 a.m., I took a pregnancy test and our lives changed forever. I smiled, I cried and woke Jim up with the good news. He went right back to sleep, while I tossed and turned thinking about my little blessing. Time has passed so quickly with Charlie that I can barely remember that I… View Post
The day started out as it usually does – at 3 a.m. – as Charlie does lately, waking me up, out of his hunger. I feed him and then we drift back off to sleep…usually until 6 or 7 a.m. On Mother’s Day, I left a sleeping Charlie and walked towards our kitchen…following the smell of bacon. Jim had wanted… View Post
Last year, Mother’s Day was very difficult for me. I left service because it was just too painful to sit through again – now with a second loss in my history. Little did I know, three days later, I discovered I was pregnant and had been so on Mother’s Day. Now, one year later, I celebrate this day with my… View Post
Charlie has always hated baths. We typically conduct them in the tub over our bathroom sink. I don’t know why he hates it – it’s like a spa, complete with a spray hose! He’s slowly getting used to them as he puts weight on and he even smiled at me today! It’s always a two person job and daddy and… View Post
Daddy took care of Charlie today and he always does a FANTASTIC job. They went shopping for my Mother’s Day present and even came up to visit me at work. Mr. Grant got to hold Charlie and he (Charlie) was entranced. Then we all grilled together and Charlie assisted in giving me my first Mother’s Day pedicure. Shopping for Mother’s… View Post

Charlie has an outfit for every Chicago sport (minus the Chicago Fire). He will wear them at the various seasons and wore the Sox/Cubs on their respective home openers. He even had a Bulls outfit for their playoffs – too bad, so sad. And in honor of his Uncle Bill, he has a Blackhawks outfit! They beat the Canucks last… View Post
Charlie rolled over for the very first time today! We had an inkling that he might do it soon and today – at 10:05 a.m. – he did it! He rolled from his back to his tummy, quickly realized he couldn’t get back on his back and cried. He still HATES tummy time with a passion!! My camera was nowhere… View Post
I’m back to blogging and will promise to catch up with Charlie’s life the past few months as I’ve recorded it on calendars, computers, and random scraps of paper. Check in frequently for glimpses at his life (delivery story included) and pics. He’s nothing short of amazing.
I’m sure this will happen often on this blog, but a few firsts to document for Charlie. First time in his crib (didn’t really sleep there, just checked it out!) First time Daddy feeds Charlie
