Charlie did NOT enjoy his first sponge bath today in our bathroom sink. He screamed, cried, and told us just how unhappy he was…good thing we had snuggly jammies to make him feel more comfortable later…This little guy has known his daddy’s voice from the start – we strongly believe this stems from the time Jim started talking and reading… View Post
Alicia and Malachi dropped by for a visit today! They also brought us dinner (an enchilda-type pie) – it was DELICIOUS! Thanks again!
We headed out in the blustery cold (complete with my FAVORITE bear suit) for Charlie’s first doctor’s appointment. He did so well, we decided to head over to the Chicago Ridge Mall and ate at none other than – Charley’s! The walk around the mall put him right to sleep and gave us a chance to be in the public… View Post

(IV, pitocin, catheter) I was finally able to walk around more on my own and I was able to take a MUCH NEEDED shower with Jim’s assistance. My mom came and relieved him for part of the day and he was… View Post

As we adjusted to life as a family of three, we had nurses constantly assessing Charlie and myself considering his new person status in this world and my recent surgery. I was slowly getting the hang of nursing, while not being able to do all that much on my own, considering I… View Post
Wednesday, January 14, 2009, started out like any other day. I woke up and headed off to work, determined to finish another day as I got closer to my due date of January 18th. The previous night, the doctor had told me that I was less than a cm dilated and we began to make plans for if baby did… View Post
After the delivery, they bundled Charlie up in this new, ill-fitting blue cap and his daddy escorted him to the nursery. The nurses covered his head as we wanted our families to be surprised. Jim announced the good news and ensured my family that I was safe and would be back to the room shortly. We arrived as a family… View Post
