Mother’s Day 2012

May 21, 2012

Our Mother’s Day celebrations typically last an entire weekend. In the past few years, we celebrate with Grandma (Jim’s mom) the day before with a homemade breakfast at our house. Then, we just relax and hang out with the boys.

For me, I told Jim that I wanted to spend the morning at the gym {say whaaaaat?} I wanted to work out for a time, jump in the steam room and then take an uninterrupted shower with no little hands grabbing to get in. I finished my time there by leisurely getting ready without feeling rushed. The boys then met me at Moondance Diner for some yummy breakfast! (We must have gotten there in the nick of time because as we went to live, there was quite a waiting list!)

The weather was BEAUTIFUL that day. While we waited to head to my parents’ house, I took a nap. Alone. It was delightful.

Next, we headed over to celebrate Momma. We joined my brother & his family. While the men (my dad and brother) cooked dinner – BBQ, the rest of us took all twenty six kiddos to the park to play. The weather was perfect, but did I mention that chasing kids all over the park is exhausting?!

I finished the evening with Peanut Butter n Chocolate ice cream (YUM!) and watching the Once Upon a Time season finale. {whoa whoa whoa!}

Thanks to my hubby for making my day extra special!
 And an extra thanks for that adorable umbrella! {haha}
