Foldable Christmas Tree Card Display

December 22, 2015

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #SendHallmark #CollectiveBias

One of my favorite things to enjoy throughout the holiday season is time by my Christmas tree and enjoying the holiday cards arriving in our mailbox. You can say so much with a greeting card and this time of year always has me wistful at the opportunity to reconnect with those I love – to catch up with them and enjoy the holidays to the fullest extent.

Each year, I struggle with finding the perfect way to display my cards and most options are pretty redundant – strings, ribbons, and more. With the Hallmark Pandora station playing in the background, I thought I would create something that the boys would have just as much fun getting involved in – the holidays were meant for family!

For this foldable Christmas tree card display, you will need:

A foldable display poster board

Markers

Popsicle sticks (shades of green preferred)

Glue

Construction paper

Clothespins

The first step is to use the popsicle sticks to create the tree outline. I opted to keep them a few spaces apart, but be careful NOT to glue the popsicle stick on the crease. If you do, you lose the folding ability. I love the idea of being able to fold this up for storage in the attic and pulling it out year after year.

Once you’ve created the general outline, let the kids give off some creative steam as they create their own version of ornaments. I LOVED this step because they spent over an hour creating the decorations. I was able to wrap gifts, bake, and more! (You’re welcome.)

Once finished, glue clothespins every few inches to hold your cards. I advise four on the bottom, then three, then two at the top – the perfect spacing for displaying your favorites!

Once finished, add a construction paper star at the top for the finishing touch and display your card tree on a table, as decoration, or behind a food tablescape for maximum enjoyment.

Hallmark greeting cards are my favorite – they are perfect for giving to your mail carrier, delivery man, postal worker, family, friends, and more! There is a card for every occasion.
