What type of event did you plan/attend and for who?

5th birthday party for my son, Malachi

How far in advance did you begin planning and how did you decide on a theme?

A few months. My son loves ALL superheroes!

Where did you get some of your ideas for the decor/food?

I used Pinterest a lot and went from there!

What was your favorite part of the party and/or party–planning process?

I loved making the cake, and adding superhero touches to the food & making the superhero party favor masks & superhero cuffs!

What was your least favorite part?

Not having enough time & money to do all of the activities/decorations for the party

With regards to a budget, did you set one and if so, do you think you stayed within it or went over?

I didn’t set a budget, I probably spent about $300 total, including the fee for using the children’s mueum. I used items I already had around the house, used Freecycle to gather other items such as the glass baby food jars, etc. I created the invitations, and other items on my computer, including the paper superhero cones for the snacks.

The computer can be a great way to personalize a party on the cheap!

Feel free to share any of your favorite links/online stores that you utilized in planning or buying materials!

Pinterest, Pinterest, Pinterest!  Also Etsy gives me some ideas of things I can make 🙂

Thanks so much for sharing, Alicia!
