Alice in Wonderland Review

July 31, 2012

A few days ago, Charlie and I headed with a dear friend to view Alice in Wonderland. I love this location and I LOVE this children’s theater. The productions are always simple, the perfect length, and entertaining. Kids are allowed to laugh and interact – not like the traditional theater at all!
We have previously seen Pinkalicious and Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, so I knew Alice would be just as well put-together.
From their site:

Practical Alice follows a peculiar rabbit down his hole and finds herself in a magical, frabjous world. Join her for a tea party with the Mad Hatter, a croquet match with the Red Queen, and a wild journey with the Cheshire Cat. Emerald City adapts Lewis Carroll’s classic story to the stage for the whole family to enjoy. The set was beautifully designed and I love the way everything serves a multi-purpose – be it characters or props. Charlie’s favorite character was the Cheshire Cat (SO cute!) and I really loved the Mad Hatter (who even spoke to Charlie at one point and accuse him of stealing the Queen’s tarts!
The theater keeps kids in mind, even down to the tiniest details, like the programs.

The show is best suited for ages 5-10, but I found that Charlie (3 and a half) was easily entertained the whole time. He loved watching the characters and there was always quite a bit of movement to keep things interesting.  I highly recommend this show as well as Emerald City Theatre – kids are number one! (And mom and dad get a great theater experience as well!)
Want to see the show yourself? For showtimes and ticket prices,
head on over to Ticketmaster to check it out!
Ice Cream Social Special

What’d you (and Charlie) think of Pinkalicious? Not sure if you read my post on it.
