Summer Brain Games from the Museum of Science and Industry {& a Giveaway!}

June 24, 2013

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.

If you’ve been following our blog then you know we LOVE the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago. From our visit to Animal Inside Out to check out The Peanuts Gang or even just to our very first time bringing our boys there, we love MSI and all that it has to offer families. My son Charlie loves learning, so when I heard about MSI’s {FREE} online science program, Summer Brain Games, I knew it was something we’d have to try out. Just for registering, you get one admission to come to the Museum for free this summer!

One of our favorite experiments that we tried actually came from last year (you have access to those as well once you sign up!) was the homemade ice cream:

Homemade Ice Cream

This experiment was easy to put together with ingredients like salt, sugar, milk, vanilla, and ice PLUS it was perfect for the summer, especially since Chicago is heating up this week. For their age, shaking the bag was a great job for them and they of course, loved the finished product!

Ice Cream Please!

YUM!

The next experiment we tried was the Balloon Racers!

Balloon Racers II

The boys loved playing with the balloons afterwards as well. Check out what you need to do this experiment at home:

Here it is in action!

This one was a HUGE hit! We’re planning to snag the train template also to make our very own CTA at home!
