Yesterday, I had the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine exploring the newest Wheaton hot spot, Kimmer’s Ice Cream Shoppe! With the original location in St. Charles, I was interested to check out this ice cream deliciousness in all of its pink and black glory.
We had an opportunity to meet the mind behind the ice cream – Kimberly Elam – and she showed us the ice cream making ropes! Her story is a unique one and definitely inspiring!
And she really captures the essence of this sign we found inside!
Kimmer’s is also home of the Sparkle Cone and I sort of wanted to smuggle a few of these home for the boys…
Overall, I loved the attention to detail and how simplified the look was, but also very kitsch. The color scheme is adorable and definitely spacious enough to accommodate summer lines.

We started mixing up a new batch of White Chocolate Salty Oatmeal and the soft version of our finished product was OUT OF THIS WORLD – even for this TRUE chocolate-loving gal.

When it came time to make our selection, I was impressed at the variety of flavors offered – gourmet ice cream that is made fresh daily and hand-packed! Choose from a variety of ice cream deliciousness – shakes, sundaes, malts, smoothies, ice cream cakes or pies, ice cream sandwiches and pints or quarts of your favorite flavors!
Kimmer’s had me at hello when I realized they have the same obsession for peanut butter that I do… (at LEAST five different flavors incorporating it!) I settled for the traditional Chocolate Peanut Butter and The Parent Trap in a chocolate waffle bowl. Peanut butter sauce and hot fudge made for a delicious afternoon treat!
Kimmer’s had some of the best ice cream I have ever had and I consider myself a self-proclaimed expert. From the little touches to the quality ingredients to beautiful decor, Kimmer’s knocks ice cream making (and serving) out of the park – adding a bit more sparkle to your day! Head to Wheaton or St. Charles to try some for yourself or at a few local grocers for select flavors.
