Scrapbooking for the American Cancer Society

August 27, 2009

Some of you may have known that a co-worker and friend of mine was suffering from metastatic breast cancer. Unfortunately, just this morning, I learned that she passed away.

About one week ago, I received the opportunity via email to Scrapbook (something I LOVE to do) for the American Cancer Society. In doing this event, I have the opportunity to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Donations can be paid PER page I complete or in one lump sum as a donation. (For reference, the event is on October 24th from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. and I could reasonably complete about 3 pages per hour, I THINK). I had talked with Jim a few days ago about doing this event so close to my birthday in honor of those close to me that I have lost to cancer: My aunt, Joan (lung), former co-worker, Joan (lung), and now Jennifer (breast).
If you would be interested in helping me out, I would greatly appreciate it. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society and those will be matched by Thrivent Financial. All of my sponsors will also be entered into a drawing for various prizes.

Thank you and be blessed,
Samantha

Sam, I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. I think this is a wonderful thing you’re doing in her memory.
