Hipkiddo Review & Giveaway!

June 6, 2012

One of the more recent ways that families are going green is through the use of cloth diapers instead of disposables. As a way to both save money and the environment, cloth diapers are a great (and sometimes fashionable!) option as you tackle the early years of parenting.
As a family, we started cloth diapering when Charlie was around six months old. We used them in conjunction with disposables as we slowly built up a cloth diaper “stash.” The biggest question (apart from cleaning the diapers) is definitely the cost of each individual cloth diaper. In perusing online and receiving various opinions from other moms, I finally landed on Hipkiddo Diapers. While being stylish AND eco-friendly, Hipkiddo Diapers are also affordable.
The Classic Line is priced at roughly $10.00 per diaper.
From their site:

This Classically Hip Diaper is great for families on a budget without compromising on the important basic qualities in a diaper. This easy to use, one-size-fits-all, pocket diaper has an incredible soft micro fleece material  that acts to wick moisture away from baby’s sensitive skin leaving them feeling comfortable & dry. Because Classically Hip diapers are one-size-fits-all, there will be no need to purchase different sizes of diapers, which saves you money!  No need for pins or plastic pants. Just slide the insert into the pocket of the diaper, adjust the  size with snaps, and Voila!

OS (One Size) fits all (8-35lbs), snap adjustable, modern pocket cloth diaper
Outer Material: Waterproof PUL lining to protect against leaks
Snaps: our diapers have 2 layers of snaps to adjust the size in the waist and legs & extra cross over snaps for xsmall fitting, as well as & 3×3 torso snaps for a perfect fit every time.
Inner Material: Only the softest micro-fleece for your HipKiddo
Inserts: Each diaper comes with one very absorbent 3 layer micro fiber insert.
Having a diaper that grows with your baby is  a fantastic benefit. In traditional disposable diapers, every time your baby moves up in a size, you are getting less diapers per package which means as your child grows, you spend more money. With cloth diapers, while you make an upfront investment, your diapers eventually begin to pay you! The patterns also make this an adorable fashion statement for even the littlest one in your crew! I received the Go-Fish & Denim patterns and they are just as cute as on the website. Bright colors & modern patterns means that your cloth diapering never goes out of style.

The simplicity of Hipkiddo diapers is also great for disposable to cloth converts. Going on the same way as disposables (except with snaps!), these diapers are simple to use and with basic washing instructions, you can just add them to your weekly laundry duty.

The Intelligently Hip Line is priced at roughly $14.00 per diaper.
From their site:
The New Intelligently Hip diaper has been intelligently redesigned making it a premium high quality, durable, slim fitting, one size fits all, pocket cloth diaper. Already getting a reputation for HIGH QUALITY & AFFORDABILITY, the soft and stretchy fabric makes it comfortable for babies to move around in and the added durability increases the lifetime of the diapers.
Intelligently Hip: Mellow Mocha OS (One Size) fits all (8-35lbs), snap adjustable, modern pocket cloth diaper
Outer Material: Waterproof PUL lining to protect against leaks
Snaps: our Intelligently Hip diapers have 2 rows of snaps that go entirely around the front of the diaper to adjust the waist and legs & NEW tabs and extra cross-over snaps make it easy for baby to grow in the diaper from xsmall-xlarge. It also has 3×3 torso snaps for a perfect fit every time.
Inner Material: Only the softest polar-fleece for your Hipkiddo
Inserts: Each diaper comes with one very absorbent 3 layer micro fiber insert.

The Intelligently Hip Line is my favorite of the bunch. With bold colors and the slimmer fit, this diaper is great for our slim 15 month old. The diaper is also less bulky than other cloth diaper brands. The extra snaps mean that little fingers can’t easily undo them and create a mess!
If the affordability and ease of using Hipkiddo diapers wasn’t enough, Hipkiddo also donates a portion of its proceeds to Seeds of Hope Children’s Orphanage, which means that as you make your family greener, you also help others!
Hipkiddo Diapers is also giving away a diaper to one of you lucky ducks! You can also find Hipkiddo on Facebook and Twitter.
